The public is being encouraged to take part in a CPR training day in Athlone today.
The Athlone Emergency Defibrillator Group will host the event in the Golden Island Shopping Centre between 9am and 5pm today.
The group which was formed last year hope to raise awareness of the importance of CPR and also make people aware of the locations of the defibrillators which are available in the town.

Various local groups and organizations are going to be performing CPR, and the committee are inviting members of the public to come along and possibly learn a lifesaving skill.
