An Athlone councillor says they may bring their High Court action against the government to Europe if a resolution over plans to house refugees in Lissywollen isn't found.
Local councillors are taking legal action against the state over plans to locate up to 1,000 asylum seekers in tents.
The case brought by the councillors began in December last year with the next hearing at the High Court taking place at the end of the month.
