Shannonside students are being informed that they will not have a space on a school transport services this year.
Parents who have bought concessionary tickets are being informed that due to transport capacity remaining at 50% for the return of schools, their children will not be able to avail of the service.
The notification has only been communicated in the last number of days, with less than a week before some schools return.

Cathaoirleach of Leitrim County Council Paddy O' Rourke says the Department of Education's School Transport section should have foreseen the situation and put contingency plans in place.
