An Post has confirmed plans to merge its delivery service unit operations in Ballyhaunis and Castlerea.
The company says the move is part of ongoing investment and planning for the future of its mail infrastructure in the region.
Under the proposal, all forty-seven staff - twelve from Ballyhaunis and thirty-five from Castlerea - will be based at An Post's delivery office in the Castlerea Business Park.

The merger is expected to take place in the second quarter of 2026, with An Post saying staff numbers at the unified base are likely to increase.
All postal staff will begin their working day in Castlerea while carrying out local deliveries as normal.
