An extra €100 child benefit to be paid this week

650 thousand families are set to benefit from a special one-off boost this week.

An extra 100 euro is added to child benefit payments for June, bringing the monthly amount to 240 euro. It's one the final cost-of-living measures announced in the last budget, and will apply to 1.2 million children across the country.

Meanwhile a new campaign will be launched today to help struggling home-owners, and those finding it hard to repay other loans or credit cards. The Banking and Payments Federation is joining forces with MABS to launch a special website, DealingWithDebt.ie.
