Almost 900 local families have availed of newborn baby grant

Almost 900 families in the Shannonside region have received the newborn baby grant since it was introduced last December. Parents get a once-off payment of €280 after their child or adopted baby is born. It's been paid to 201 families in Leitrim, 301 in Longford and 370 in Roscommon, since it was announced in last year's Budget.

Sligo-Leitrim TD Frank Feighan is delighted local families are benefitting from the grant.
