There were almost 70 fatal road crashes in the Shannonside region between 2016 and 2024. That's part of the findings in the Road Safety's Authority interactive map. The map is seen an important tool for members of the public, researchers, local authorities and other stakeholders with an interest in road safety and collision data. It contains data on fatal, serious and minor injury collisions that occurred on public roads between 2016 and 2024.
Information is collected by An Garda Síochána. Locally, a total of 67 fatal collisions have taken place. Roscommon sees the highest total at 36, followed by 18 in Longford, while in Leitrim there were 13. More information can be found on the RSA website.
