Almost 60 waiting for a bed at local hospitals

Almost 60 admitted patients were on trolleys in local hospitals this morning.

There were 40 waiting at Sligo University Hospital, with 14 and 3 in Portiuncula and Midland Regional Hospital in Mullingar respectively.

University Hospital Limerick accounts for the largest number of those, with 77 followed by University Hospital Galway with 68 and Cork University Hospital with 54.

Of the total number of people waiting for beds, 422 were in emergency departments while 193 are in wards, according to the INMO.
