Almost 2,000 people have been waiting over 18 months for treatment at Sligo University Hospital. According to the National Treatment Purchase Fund, over 1,700 are waiting for their first outpatient consultation. 279 are waiting for inpatient or day-case treatment. Local Sinn Fein TD Martin Kenny says he's not surprised by the new figures:
