Almost 120 people on trolleys at local hospitals

Almost 120 people are waiting for a bed in hospitals across the Shannonside  region this morning.

Sligo University Hospital is reporting the third highest figure in the country today at 57.

Galway University Hospital is also extremely busy with 39 people on trolleys.

19 people are waiting for beds in the Midlands Regional Hospital Mullingar with management reporting the facility is in escalation.

Meanwhile just three and four patients are on trolleys at our lady's hospital Drogheda and Midlands Regional Hospital Tullamore.

There are currently no patients waiting on a bed at Cavan or Portiuncula Hospitals.
