There are 37 without beds in Sligo University Hospital and 55 in Galway University Hospital.

Almost 100 patients are on trolleys in two local hospitals - as the flu crisis puts emergency departments under extra strain.

There are 37 without beds in Sligo University Hospital and 55 in Galway University Hospital.

The HSE says more than 500 people are now hospitalised with flu nationwide.
