The air ambulance from Athlone has attended the scene of a medical emergency in Longford town this afternoon.
A man in his 30s required urgent medical attention and the Custume Barracks-based helicopter was alerted to an incident just after 2pm.
It landed at St Mel's College grounds at around 2.40pm and the man was airlifted from the scene.

His condition is presently unknown.
