Additional services have been announced from Athlone to Galway and Dublin by Irish Rail.
The services include a new late service leaving Dublin Heuston at 8.30. Irish rail have also announced a service from Tullamore to Galway which will serve Athlone.
Local Senator Aisling Dolan says the news leaves commuters with more choice ahead of travelling.
