Abolish hospital parking charges for patients and staff - Kenny

A local TD believes hospital parking charges should be abolished for patients and staff.

It comes as motions have been raised to scrap the fees, with Labour TD Mark Wall saying some patients are paying up to €25 a day in fees to avail of essential care.

Sligo University Hospital generated the most revenue from parking fees in the region last year, at a total of €410,581.

Sligo-Leitrim Sinn Féin TD Martin Kenny believes the charges are 'totally inappropriate and wrong.'
