Illegal dumping is a major issue in Ballaghaderreen.

It's been confirmed that 61 tonnes of waste was recently removed from a Ballaghaderreen estate, after widespread illegal dumping. Roscommon County Council completed the clean-up in the Gleann Ard estate.

It was to address pollution and public health concerns. There are dozens of unoccupied houses in Gleann Ard, where antisocial behaviour regularly takes place.
