Longford County Council has received over 400 applications for the government's ' Restart Grant'

The demand for the grant, which is based on a companies' rates bill for last year and can see firms receive up to 10,000, is the highest per capita uptake in the country at the moment.

Companies in longford are able to access the fund by applying online with the deadline the end of August.

Earlier this week, Leitrim County Council confirmed up to 50 applications had been made for the grant.
