There's concern among business groups that the 4 day working week will only suit certain sectors.

A 4-day working week is too costly and complicated for businesses to introduce, according to IBEC.

17 Irish businesses are to embrace a shorter work week as part of a six-month trial commencing next year.

Four Day Week Ireland told the Oireachtas Business Committee that reduced hours can improve an employee's work-life balance without negatively impacting business productivity.
