3.5 million euro announced for digital improvements in local schools

The funding is part of a national allocation of 50 million euro.

Close to 3 and a half million euro has been allocated to schools across the Shannonside Northern Sound Region as part of a new digital teaching programme.

The funds, announced by Minister for Education Norma Foley this morning, will see 3.5 million euro allocated to 347 primary and post-primary schools across the 5 counties.

Schools will be required to use the funding for the direct benefit of their students, in areas such as digital technologies and providing infrastructure such as devices on loan to students.
