It could take 20 years for Leitrim County Council to repair some rural roads because of a funding crisis.
That's according to Sinn Féin councillor Brendan Barry, speaking about the Local Improvement Scheme.
This involves homeowners helping to pay for the upgrade of small roads and laneways in rural areas.
