There were 20 patients waiting for beds at a local hospital this morning.
That's according to the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation figures, which show over 176 patients were waiting for a bed at facilities nationwide.
Sligo University Hospital is the busiest in the region and second busiest in the country today with 20 people waiting for bed.
This includes 14 in the Emergency Department and 6 elsewhere in the hospital.
University Hospital Limerick is the busiest facility in the country with 36 people waiting on trolleys.
