Businesses backed by the Local Enterprise Office created over 170 new jobs in Roscommon last year.
That's according to senior executive development officer Enda Cannon, who was speaking ahead of Local Enterprise Week.
The annual initiative runs from Monday to Friday next and will see events taking place across the Shannonside region.

Mr Cannon says LEO has performed well despite the challenging business environment.
