13 suppliers are providing hot school meals in Co Roscommon.
The scheme has been available to all primary schools since September.
The Social Protection Minister says the School Meals Programme is designed to provide regular, nutritious food to children.
Dara Calleary says this supports them to take full advantage of the education provided to them.
He says it's also designed to encourage school attendance.
The programme was initially only available to disadvantaged schools but has been available to all primary schools since September.
Nine suppliers are providing meals to schools in Longford, along with 11 in Leitrim, and 13 in Roscommon.
It's up to each school to choose their own supplier, in line with public procurement rules.
