Roscommon youngester Costello through to Matchplay semi-final

Olivia Costello qualified for the AIG Championship Matchplay Irish Women's Close Championship semi-finals with an impressive win over Deirdre Smith.

13-year-old Costello won her quarter-final 2&1 over Deirdre Smith having won her round two competition Mairead Martin Kanturk 4&2.

Costello tee’s off her semi-final against Anna Foster of Elm Park golf club at eight minutes past eight on Sunday morning.

Costello started the competition with victory over Mary Sheehy of Tralee golf club 3&2 on Friday.
