Cavan staged a sensational second-half comeback against Roscommon.
Cavan trailed by 11 points at half-time, however, prevailed in in King & Moffatt Dr Hyde Park by four points.
Shanise Fitzsimons got Cavan’s opening goal of the contest after seven minutes, as the hosts were in total control. Roscommon led by 11 points at the break, 4-4 to 1-2.
Fitzsimons got Cavan’s second goal of the game on 36 minutes as the visitors chipped away at the deficit.
Aela O’Sullivan raised Cavan’s third green flag of the day after 50 minutes to level the sides. Following an impressive early showing in the second half from Cavan.
That vein of form continued with Cavan hitting their fourth goal of the contest when Roisin O’Keefe hit the Roscommon net, giving her side a three point lead with six minutes remaining.
Cavan held on for a memorable win, running out four point winners in the Glen Dimplex Premier Junior Championship, 4-10 to 4-6. Both teams progress to the semi-final stage of the All-Ireland premier junior championship.
