Roscommon minors lose out to Sligo in Connacht championship

Roscommon minors bowed out of the Connacht championship after a 1-16 to 15 point defeat to Sligo.

The result see's Sligo take third place in the group and a meeting with Galway in the semi-final.

Robert O'Kelly Lynch's 16th minute goal for Sligo was the telling difference. Sligo led 1-6 to six points at half-time.

The first-half Roscommon points came from Robert Heneghan, Rory Carthy (f), TJ Hannon, Ryan Hanley, Eoghan Murray and Jamie Betts.

Try as they might Roscommon were unable to close the gap after the break. Murray, Hannon 0-2, Carthy (2f), Ryan Dowling, Heneghan 0-2 (1f) all scored but Roscommon lost out 1-16 to 0-15.
