The Roscommon hurlers began their Christy Ring Cup campaign with a 2-19 to 3-14 defeat against Wicklow in the opening round of the Christy Ring Cup at Doctor Hyde Park.
Wicklow led by 11 points after 52 minutes before the Rossies made an excellent comeback only to narrowly lose out.
Cathal Dolan struck for two quickfire goals midway through the second half and suddenly the margin was reduced to five points.

Six minutes later Eamon Flanagan found the net to make it a two-point game.
Both teams added a further four points each as the game ended in a win for the visitors.
