The Rosssies now find themselves in a fight for survival.

Roscommon suffered a second straight defeat in the TG4 ladies intermediate football championship losing 3-8 to 1-7 to Laois in Kinnegad today.

Laois led 2-5 to 1-4 at half-time before a superior second half display saw them finish with seven points to spare.

Laois led 2-4 to 1-2 at the first water break with Fiona Dooley and Laura Nerney scoring a goal each while Rachel Fitzmaurice found the net for the Rossies.

Roscommon outscored Laois 0-2 to 0-1 in the second quarter but still found themselves four points in arrears at half-time.

Sligo dominated the third quarter and a Jane Moore goal just before the water break gave the Leinster outfit a nine-point cushion.

Roscommon narrowly shaded the final quarter but still ended up on the losing side as they now look forward to the relegation play-offs.
