Roscommon fall to Kerry in Tralee

Kerry ended Roscommon’s hopes of making the Allianz League division one final with an 1-12 to 12 point win in Tralee.

The game was won in the early stages as Roscommon were caught out early by the Kerry counter! David Clifford with a fifth minute goal.

Clifford’s goal arrived either side of points from Dara Moynihan and Donal O’Sullivan. O’Sullivan added his second point on 10 minutes to make it 1-3 to no score.

Conor Cox quickly opened Roscommon’s account. The score settled Roscommon but didn’t stop Kerry.

Points from Tony Brosnan (0-2) and Sean O’Shea. Kerry led 1-6 to five at half-time. Roscommon’s scores coming from Diarmuid Murtagh (0-2), Ciaran Murtagh and Cox.

Roscommon came flying out of the traps in the second-half, Daire Cregg and two from Conor Cox cut Kerry’s lead to two.

Kerry settled however Paudie Clifford kicking Kerry’s first point of the second-half. Conor Cox responded but Kerry replied with points from Tom O’Sullivan, Sean O’Shea and David Clifford.

Roscommon didn’t give up in the home of the All-Ireland champions, Donnie Smith kicking his first point of the league campaign. Killian Spillane responding for Kerry.

Conor Cox sent over a good free with Donie Smith converting a late free as Roscommon lost out by three points.
