Former intercounty referee Joe McQullian notes the introduction of the new GAA rules at the start of the year have been brilliant.
The Cavan whistler took charge of his last fixture outside of the county last Sunday. McQullian oversaw the meeting of Scotstown and Newbridge in the Box-it Athletic grounds.
Having officiated at four senior All-Ireland finals as well as Ulster, Leinster, Munster and Connacht deciders; the Kill clubman is one of the most experienced referees in the country.
Speaking after a year of working with the new rules he highlighted how they have improved the game.
