A single Gary Rogers point was the difference as Mullinalaghta claimed their first championship win this year over Slashers in Edgeworthstown.

Pat Cadden’s side had the lead straight from the throw-in. Niall Woods found a pocket of space of pop the ball over the bar.
Mullinalaghta had their second through James Rogers before Sean and Robert Clarke brought Slashers level just shy of 10-minutes.
Mullinalaghta got the next three scores with Cian McElligot following up a pair of fine David McGivney strikes. However, their dominance was short lived as Robbie Clarke recorded the first two-pointer of the day.
Sean Tiernan blasted over the equaliser following the first real goal chance of the game for Slashers.
The tide turned in Slashers favour following a 45 from goalkeeper Eoin McGuinness. Which was followed up by Diarmuid Shehan and Robbie Clarke frees as Mullinalaghta began to lose their composure.
Another David McGivney free had Mullinalaghta back within two at the half-time interval.
Mullinalaghta came out incredibly strong in the second-half. Cian Mackey riffling into the net as he attacked from the right strongly before burying a left footed strike into the bottom corner.
Slashers provided the perfect response with a point from Sheehan and a Sean Clarke goal. Clarke followed-up a deflected Darragh O’Connell attempt with a soccer style finish past Luke Meehan.
A Robbie Clarke free brought the sides level before Gary Rogers found himself in acres of space but opted to fist the ball over the bar with four minutes remaining.
However it was enough to give Mullinalaghta a slender, but much needed win. Mullinalaghta winning out 1-13 to 1-12.
