It went to penalties in Tuam as Galway relinquished their All Ireland title

Mayo have ensured new U20 Connacht and All Ireland champions will be crowned in 2021 after they knocked out the holders Galway on Tuesday night on penalties. In a dramatic game in Tuam, the home side looked like they had weathered the storm when they took a 1-08 to 8 point lead in extra time, however they failed to score from Nathan Graingers penalty till the end with Mayo replying with 3 unanswered points to bring the encounter to spot kicks which they duly won 7 to 6. The meeting of Roscommon and Sligo this evening (Wednesday) at 7pm in Dr. Hyde park will decide Mayo's opponents for the final. The Rossies were comfortable winners over Leitrim in the quarter final with Adam Mc Dermott, Ben O'Carroll, Daragh Heneghan and James Fitzpatrick all finding the net in their 4-16 to 0-10 point win.

We will have full live commentary of that encounter for our Shannonside Listeners.
