Longford's Barry Sheil takes Connacht cross country bronze

Barry Sheil collected bronze at the Connacht cross country championship on Sunday in Ballina.

Sheil took bronze behind North Sligo’s Darragh Kelly with silver going to Abaas Adam Edris. Sheil won the Longford marathon in 2019.

Carrick-on-Shannon’s Ken Kennedy took 12^th place overall with club mates Adrian Gurn 16^th and Micheal Keane 20^th. Peter Kehoe of Roscommon harriers was 26^th.

In the underage races Longford’s Sophia Carey took bronze in the under-12 girls race.

The national cross country championship is set for November 21 in Dublin.
