Longford Town came from a goal down to beat UCD 2-1 in Bishopsgate, moving into the first division play-off places.
Second‑half goals from Dean Williams and Daragh Murtagh were the difference for the town.
The visitors hit the front after 22 minutes when Ciaran Behan finished well to give UCD a 1–0 lead.
Longford struggled to settle during the opening period, and frustration grew as UCD’s Thomas Morley went into the book before the break.
Town made a change in first‑half injury time, with Cole Omorehiomwan replacing Jamie Egan.
Longford emerged with far more intent after the restart. Pharrell Manuel picked up an early yellow card, but the introduction of Daniel McKenna on 57 minutes helped spark Town’s midfield into life.
Their pressure finally told on 61 minutes. Dean Williams reacted quickest inside the box, firing home to level the game and lift the Bishopsgate crowd.
UCD responded with a double substitution, but Longford kept their foot down. After Jake Hough was booked, Town found the breakthrough their second‑half dominance deserved.
On 77 minutes, Daragh Murtagh struck the decisive blow, finishing confidently to put Longford 2–1 ahead. UCD emptied their bench in search of an equaliser, but Town managed the closing stages well.
The win moves Longford into fifth place in the first division table, one clear of Wexford and three behind Cobh Ramblers.
