Longford too strong for Leitrim in Allianz Hurling League

Longford finished with 11 points to spare.

Longford claimed their second win in Allianz hurling division 3B after beating Leitrim 2-15 to 1-7 at Glennon Brothers Pearse Park.

The hosts made a blistering start. Cathal Mullane’s early goal saw them lead 1-0 to 0-1 inside eight minutes.

Adrian Moran’s men dominated the remainder of the half and led 1-5 to 0-3 at half-time. Leitrim also had Martin Feeney sent off before the break.

Longford found another gear during the second-half. Cathal Mullane’s added a second goal 15 minutes from time as the hosts ran out convincing winners.

The results moves Longford into second place in division 3B, securing a place in the divisional semi-final.
