The Longford senior championships has started to take some shape after two rounds of games.
The surprise package being Rathcline with the surprise bottom side being Mullinalaghta.
In group A, Dromard and Colmcille have 100% records with Dromard topping the group on score difference. Those two will be odds onto make the quarter-final stage.
Whereas, it’s a bit more interesting going down the table. Killoes draw with Carrickedmond last Thursday has opened up the group slightly.
Indeed, the top four progress to the quarter-final with round three now taking a key place in the championship.
Senior Football Championship Group A League Stages
Dromard will face Killoe. A win for Dromard will almost certainly secure a top two place in the group. Killoe with three points will be looking to make a statement with a victory.
While St. Mary’s Granard face Colmcille. Granard need a win while Comcille will be looking for a big performance.
The third game of the group, see’s Carrickedmond face Mostrim. A defeat for the Edgesworthstown side will almost certainly send them to the relegation play-off.
Group B has seen two big surprises thus far. Rathcline top the group B with two wins, while 2019 Leinster champions Mullinalaghta are bottom after two games.
Whereas, Mullinalaghta face Longford Slashers in round three. Slashers scored a win over Fr. Manning Gaels with the Drumlish side odds on to go down. Gaels face form side Rathcline in round two.
However, with such an injury crisis at Mullinalaghta, the challenge is to get points on the board. Slashers will know doubt be fully aware.
Whereas, defending champions Abbeylara face Clonguish a game which will go a long way to deciding the quarter-final line-up.
