Longford are headed for the relegation semi-finals after they finished bottom of division three north.

Longford got their first point of their division three north campaign following a 1-15 to 0-18 draw with Fermanagh at Brewster Park in Enniskillen.

The hosts narrowly shaded the second half having trailed 0-10 to 1-6 at half-time

Fermanagh began the game in explosive fashion and an early goal from Sean Quigley saw them lead 1-2 to no score after seven minutes of play.

Longford brought the margin back to three points at the first water break as a hat-trick of points from Robbie Smyth made it 1-3 to 0-3.

A free from Darren Gallagher restored parity heading into injury time before points from Robbie Smith (two) and Dessie Reynolds helped the visitors to a one-point buffer at the break.

A Darren Gallagher free stretched the lead to three points shortly after the restart but Fermanagh fought back and found themselves leading by a single point at the second water break.

The sides traded a point each as the game ended in a draw.

Padraic Davis men are headed for the relegation semi-finals where they’ll take on Tipperary while Fermanagh will play Offaly in the semi-finals of division three.
