Leitrim will face Down in the Tailteann Cup first round.
Down missed out on a place in the All-Ireland football championship after Armagh cruised to a 28-point win in Clones.
The result mean’s Armagh will face Monaghan in the Ulster final. Whereas Leitrim will travel to Down on May 16th or 17th.
Down became team 17 in the country meaning they drop into the Tailteann Cup. The full draw for Tailteann Cup round one is.
Saturday May 9; Clare v Offaly, Wexford v Limerick. May 10th; Fermanagh v Longford, Laois v Wicklow, Carlow v Antrim, Sligo v Tipperary, Waterford v London.
May 16/17; Down v Leitrim.
The All-Ireland football championship round draw will take place at lunch time on Monday May fourth.
The eight provincial finalists will be placed in pot one with the remaining eight teams in pot two. The provincial finalists will have home advantage in round one.
Pot One: Dublin, Westmeath, Kerry, Cork, Monaghan, Armagh, Roscommon, Galway.
Pot Two: Donegal, Mayo, Meath, Louth, Derry, Tyrone, Cavan, Kildare.
The format has changed for this year’s All-Ireland championship with 16 teams entering at round one in a backdoor system. The eight winners will progress to round 2A with the eight losers progressing to round 2B.
The four round 2A winners will progress to the quarter-final. Whereas, the four round 2B winner will move to round there, where they will meet four losers from round 2A. The round three winners progress to the quarter-finals.
