A launch event took place on Wednesday evening in Carrick-on-Shannon for the Leitrim GAA 50 miles fundraising.
The fundraiser which first launched in 2021 invites participants to take part using the slogan “walk, run or connect”.
The fundraising event invites people to walk or run while connecting with Leitrim supporters both at home and abroad.
Participants of the challenge are invited to join the official Facebook Group or Strava Club. Where they can share images of their progress along with any undiscovered sights they encounter throughout the challenge.
A dedicated panel have been appointed tasked with choosing the best images each week, awarding prizes to the chosen winners aimed at promoting the sights and scenes Co Leitrim has to offer.
Whereas, registration for the event became active on December 3rd, with each registered member receiving a hat upon payment.
An iDonate fundraising page has been set up for participants, with the aim of supporting the challenge’s charitable mission.
Leitrim GAA and Leitrim LGFA have worked collaboratively to plan and launch this joint initiative, with all proceeds shared equally between both organisations.
