Goals proved crucial as Allen Gaels defeated St. Pats Dromahair in the Leitrim intermediate football final.
After a bright start, Gaels opened up a five-point advantage after 11 minutes to a Radek Oberwan goal.
Gaels established a strong hold on proceedings and kept the scoreboard ticking over thanks to Kyle Flynn, Caleb Duffy & Shane Walsh among others.
Indeed, St. Pats did get a goal of their own through an Adam Gethins penalty. However, Pat’s still trailed by eight points going into half-time.
Things didn’t improve much for St. Pats in the second period, Allen Gaels getting their second goal straight from the throw-in from Caleb Duffy.
St. Pats’ heads were down as Gaels continued to keep the scoreboard ticking over, before grabbing their third and final goal from Kieran Kilcline to see out a 15-point victory and seal the intermediate title.
Allen Gaels winning out 3-16 to 1-7.
Congratulations to Allen Gaels who are Intermediate County Champions 2025
