Four Ulster grounds will welcome back a limited number of supporters this weekend in the Allianz National football league. The GAA has given their backing to an easing of restrictions by the Northern Ireland Executive. It means 500 fans apiece will be able to watch the home games of 4 of the 6 counties. In Division 1 North, Monaghan make the trip to Healy park in Omagh to take on Tyrone on Saturday evening at 7:30, while Donegal face Armagh in the Athletic Grounds in the same group at the same time. All 4 teams will be looking for victories to ensure their progress to the league semi finals. In Division 3 North Longford make the trip to Brewster Park to take on Fermanagh while Leitrim will are also on the road in Division 4 North when they make the trip to Corrigan Park in Belfast to face Antrim.
It is been reported that each competing county will be given 50 complimentary tickets with the remainder going on sale in the county that is hosting. In a statement from the GAA, they clarified that with cross border travel for non-essential reasons discouraged, tickets for supporters would only be sold locally and via the county board. The return of supporters to grounds will be the first since March of 2020, as all intercounty fixtures have taken place behind closed doors.
