Dublin Marathon to remain in the City
10 April 2024; The Irish Life Dublin Marathon organisers have confirmed today with Dublin City Council that the 2024 course will run through the city streets on Sunday, October 27th, starting on Leeson Street Lower and finishing on Mount Street Upper. The popular event will take place on October 27th

The 2024 Dublin Marathon will start and finish in Dublin city centre.

The Dublin Marathon organisers and Dublin City Council announced today; the start and finish location of the Irish Life Dublin Marathon will be in the city centre on Sunday, October 27th.

A statement read; Both parties have been working together to develop a feasible solution to make this possible; while ensuring minimal disruption to the area over the October bank holiday weekend.

“We are very proud as a city to host the fifth biggest marathon in Europe in Dublin City” said Dublin City Council CEO Richard Shakespeare.

“The event brings celebration and vibrancy as well as significant social and economic benefits for the city” added Shakespeare.

The Irish Life Dublin Marathon will start on Lesson Street Lower and finish on Mount Street Upper. Remaining within the Dublin 2 area and ensuring the route will run through the city centre streets.

“We are thrilled to confirm that the Irish Life Dublin Marathon will be on the streets of Dublin's city centre” said Jim Aughney, Race Director.

“Running the marathon is a momentous occasion for participants and being in the heart of the capital city; makes that moment even more special for them and their families and friends who come out to support them”.
