After three years in charge, Derek Frehill is stepping down as the manager of the Longford senior hurling squad.

Derek Frehill has announced that he is stepping down as manager of the Longford hurling team after two-years in charge.

Frehill led Longford hurlers to the Allianz league division 3B title in 2019. However they were relegated from the Nicky Rackard cup in 2020.

Frehill's side also lost their division 3A status in 2021, while also failing to make the 2021 Lory Meagher cup final.

Longford GAA’s statement on twitter read; “Derek Frehill has announced that he is stepping down as Manager of the County Hurling Team”.

“Longford GAA respect his decision and wish to thank him and his backroom team for all their efforts over the past 3 years”.
