James Hagan’s last gasp point sent Clonguish in the Longford quarter-finals after a dramatic win over Abbeylara.
Hagan in his first year in senior football helped Clonguish to a 1-18 to 2-14 victory over the county champions. The win guarantees Clonguish a quarter-final place.
Abbeylara led 1-9 to 1-7 at half-time at Fr McGee Park. Indeed, a Matthew Carey penalty in the fourth minute of stoppage time bringing Clonguish back into the game. Cathal Gilligan had found the net for Abbeylara.
However, Abbeylara landed a second goal before Hagan fired over the winning point for Clonguish in the second minute of stoppage time.
