Attention now turns to the provincial competitions

With the Allianz National football leagues complete the attention is already turning to the championship with the provincial competitions starting in under 2 weeks time. In Connacht, the meeting of London and Leitrim in Ruislip will see the action underway on April 17th with New York and Sligo meeting on the same day in Gaelic Park. The winners of that encounter will face Roscommon in the championship semi final. Anthony Cunningham's side claimed the Division 2 league title with a victory over Galway their 2nd over the same opposition within a week and speaking on Sports beat last night Roscommon People Editor Dan Dooner remarked that the Rossies answered any questions that was been asked about them

That meeting with New York or Sligo is fixed for Sunday the 1st of May. In Leinster the provincial championship gets underway on April 24th, with Munster a little under a week later with their quarter finals down for decision on Saturday April 30th. Ulster will be the first province to get their championship underway with Tyrone getting the defence of their Ulster and All Ireland titles underway on Saturday the 16th of April when they face Fermanagh in the preliminary round. in Brewster Park.
