Ballinamore opened the scoring inside two minutes of this meeting when Tom Prior fired over.
Glencar Manorhamilton were quick to respond with two points from Barry McNulty and Gavin O’Hagan. McNulty who ended the contest with 11 points, got the opening two pointer of the contest on eight minutes.
Luke Murphy and Evan Sweeney traded scores, before Barry McNulty kicked his second two pointer 60 seconds later. The visitors led eight points to three after 17 minutes.
Jack Kelly kicked another score for Glencar-Manor on 24 minutes, what turned out to be their last of the opening-half. The hosts took control for the remainder of the half.
Three two pointers in a row for Ballinamore through Paul Honeyman and Paul Moran put the hosts ahead for the first time on 29 minutes.
A Shane Moran two-pointer brought the first-half to a conclusion, as Ballinamore led by three-points at the break. At half-time Ballinamore led 13-points to 10.
Two early second-half points from Barry McNulty and Jack Kelly reduced the Ballinamore lead to one point inside the opening three minutes.
Moments later Paddy Connaughton thought he had found the back of the Glencar Manorhamilton net after a Paul Honeyman shot dropped short. However, referee Seamus Mulhern disallowed it, calling for a square ball.
Another Barry McNulty two pointer from a free put Glencar-Manor back in front with 45 minutes played. A heavy mist made conditions difficult for the remaining 15 minutes of play.
Paul Honeyman and Shane Moran both registered points from play as the hosts regained the lead with under eight minutes remaining.
Ballinamore moving in on first win
The lead swapped hands again with four minutes remaining. Barry McNulty fired over his fourth two pointer of the contest, as Glencar-Manor led by a point coming into the closing stages of the contest.
With 60 seconds remaining, Ballinamore were awarded a free outside the arc. Up stepped Paul Honeyman to fire over and give his side a one-point lead again.
Glencar-Manor attempted to engineer an opening in the final play of the contest, but the hosts nullified any possible threat.
