O'Rourke beat World and Olympic medalist Qian Li of China

O’Rourke booked a place in the final of the Strandja Memorial tournament in Bulgaria with an impressive win over Qian Li of China.

The Castlerea boxer her Tokyo Olympics defeat with a stunning victory on Saturday afternoon.

The 26-year-old got the nod from four of the judges over the double Olympic and triple World medallist Li. Indeed O'Rourke booked a place in the 75kg final.

Whereas, the judges scoring the bout 30-27, 30-27, 28-29, 29-28, 30-27 in O’Rourke’s favour. The Castlerea boxer fights for gold on Sunday.

Aoife last competed in the Strandja Memorial Tournament in 2022, taking gold.
