A long list of counties are now looking for management

Roscommon are the latest county to look for an intercounty senior manager after Anthony Cunningham confirmed he would not be looking to continue on for a 5th year. Having been appointed in 2018 Cunningham led the Rossies to a Connacht title in 2019 as well as a Division 2 league title in 2020. While they were relegated a year later, they repeated the league success earlier this year to secure Division 1 football for 2023.  They also contested this years Connacht final going down to eventual All Ireland finalists Galway, but suffered a disappointing defeat to Clare in the All Ireland qualifiers. Commenting on the news, Roscommon GAA Chairperson Brian Carroll said

I want to thank Anthony for everything he has done for Roscommon football over the last 4 years. Anthony gave it everything while manager and we had many memorable days along the journey. On behalf of everyone in Roscommon I want to thank Anthony and his management teams for all their efforts and work. Anthony is one of life’s gentlemen and I wish him the very best of luck in the future.

Roscommon GAA Executive Committee will now begin the process of appointing a new senior football manager.
