Dromod residents Mary Kearney has been recently appointed as the new centre Director for the newly established Digital Futures Manufacturing Centre in Sligo.
The centre, established in conjunction with IT Sligo as well as Leitrim and Sligo County Councils will be a centre of excellence to prepare companies in the Northwest to embrace new technologies such as automation and Artificial Intelligence and establish Sligo as a research lead in manufacturing supply chains.
It will cater for small and large firms, who may need assistance dealing with industry 4.0 and Mary has been speaking to Kevin McGillicuddy about her role, and the challenges facing industry:
