Western Development Commission CEO steps down from role this week

The Minister for Community and Rural Affairs has thanked the former CEO for his work and commitment.

The CEO of the Western Development Commission in Ballaghaderreen has officially stepped down from his role this week.

Tomas Ó Sicohain will immediately take up the position of Chief Executive of Uadaras na Gaeltachta.

Mr. Ó Siochain was appointed as CEO of the WDC in 2018 and worked on the regional development of western counties.

Minister Heather Humphreys commended Tomas for his key role in delivering the Connected Hubs project, which continues to make remote working a real possibility for people across Ireland.

The Western Development Commission has announced the appointment of Allan Mulrooney as its interim Chief Executive.
