A status yellow wind warning has been issued for Co Leitrim over the weekend.
It affects also Clare, Galway, Mayo, Sligo, and Donegal and begins at 3am on Saturday and runs until 6pm on Sunday.
Met Éireann says the main impact will be felt in coastal areas with wave overtopping and spray.

It says difficult travelling conditions can be expected, and is urging people to stay back, stay high and stay dry.
